Yifan Hu is a distinguished Chinese pianist and educator, currently teaching at the Piano Department of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. A dynamic performer with an international profile, he received his Doctorate in Piano Performance from the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover in Germany.
He studied under Professors Xiaosheng Zhao and Jingzhuang Yao in China and received valuable artistic guidance from Professors Jun Yang and Shucheng Shi. During his studies in Germany, he was mentored by Mikyung Kim, Markus Groh, and Bernd Goetzke.
Hu has won numerous awards, including top prizes at the Royal Morocco International Piano Competition, the Gulangyu National Piano Competition, the Viotti International Piano Competition (Italy), and the Liszt International Piano Competition (Italy).
He has been invited to perform at prestigious venues and festivals worldwide, including the 190th Anniversary of Johann Strauss Commemorative Concert Series in Hannover, the Harz International Music Festival and Halle International Art Festival in Germany, the Lüneburg Heide International Summer Music Academy, as well as in leading venues across China such as Harbin Concert Hall, Wuhan Chime Bell Hall, Wenzhou Grand Theatre, Shanghai He Luting Concert Hall, Shanghai Concert Hall, Shanghai Symphony Hall, Beijing National Library Arts Center, Beijing Concert Hall, and the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Beijing.
His extensive concert activities include solo recitals, chamber music, and concerto appearances.
