Biography
An internationally recognized pianist known for artistic insight, emotional depth, and interpretive originality.
Xinchen Jia is a distinguished pianist and dedicated educator. He is currently studying with Professor Jerome Rose at the Mannes School of Music (The New School) and Professor Jerome Lowenthal at The Juilliard School, both widely regarded as among the most influential pianists and pedagogues of their generation, and internationally respected authorities in piano performance and education. He previously studied at the Manhattan School of Music under Professor Inesa Sinkevych.
An artist of remarkable versatility, Xinchen has excelled not only in piano performance but also in early elective studies of organ and harpsichord, demonstrating profound musicianship and a deep understanding of keyboard traditions across historical periods.
In 2024, he made his Carnegie Hall debut, marking a significant milestone in his artistic journey. That same year, he gave the world premiere of Jiayi Zhang’s "Requiem for the River", a deeply evocative contemporary work that further established him as a pianist of artistic insight, emotional depth, and interpretive originality.
On June 16, 2025, Xinchen was invited to perform at the North American Alumni Association of Beijing International Studies University Anniversary Celebration in New York. The event was attended by Counselor Yu, Consul Geng, and Vice Consul Ma of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in New York, as well as presidents of leading institutions worldwide. His performance received wide recognition and was covered by GCTV.
In 2025, Xinchen Jia became a signed artist with New World International Music Company. He is currently preparing for an international concert tour, including performances at Carnegie Hall, Harvard University, and major theater circuits throughout China, alongside the release of his debut album, marking an important new chapter in his international artistic career.
On July 20, 2025, Xinchen was invited to perform with orchestra at Carnegie Hall as part of the 6th Big Apple Music Festival, where his performance received international acclaim.
Renowned pedagogues Professor José Ramos Santana (NYU Steinhardt; Chair of Piano, The Hartt School, University of Hartford) and Professor Boaz Sharon (Boston University; Director of Piano, Boston University Tanglewood Institute) offered high praise for his artistry following his performances.
Xinchen is also the pianist and Artistic Supervisor for 11,000 Strings, a groundbreaking production presented at the Park Avenue Armory in 2025. In addition to his performance role, he oversaw the project’s artistic direction, collaborating closely with the conductor, composer, stage management, and Armory producing staff throughout the production.
An official Steinway piano teacher, Xinchen is deeply committed to music education. He provides free piano instruction to children on the autism spectrum, using a patient, student-centered approach that emphasizes emotional safety, trust, and individual expression while fostering strong technical foundations and artistic growth.
